Row Level Security restricts user access to specified rows presented in the Power BI report. | Object Level Security restricts user access to specified columns and tables presented in the Power BI report. |
Row-level security (RLS) is used to restrict data access for the users. Filters are used to restrict data access at the row level. And within the roles, we can apply filters. | Object-level security (OLS) is used to restrict data access for the users. We cannot apply filters in the Object Level security. |
In the Power bi service, users of a workspace have access to a dataset in the workspace. Row-level security does not restrict this data access. | In the Power bi service, users of a workspace have access to a dataset in the workspace. Object-level security does not restrict this data access. |
